The Project

Delivering complete electrical refurbishment to a high-rise estate while residents are still in situ presents its challenges.  ENGIE invited us to work with them to overcome these challenges, confident our team had the combination of expertise, electrical know-how, care and consideration needed to deliver.

Part of Southwark Council’s Regenerating Southwark programme, the project included planned maintenance, flat refurbishments, heating upgrades, external wall insulation and a variety of other external works.

Our team was proud to help ENGIE deliver Southwark Council’s plan, with a programme of complete electrical services including kitchen and bathroom refurbishment of 210 properties, full electrical rewire & partial upgrades, CCU replacement as required, LD2 advanced smoke alarm repairs and fixed wire testing. Installation of electrical supply to 13 ‘hidden homes’ and electrical design layout of the Tenant and Resident Association Hall, approved by Southwark Council Compliance.

The Challenge: High-Rise Refurbishment

The Environtech team delivered the project with care and consideration, respectfully working alongside residents while meeting the demands of this complex refurbishment project.

Part way into the project the electrical layout of the Tenant and Resident Hall presented challenges.  Our team responded with a design that addressed the specific requirements of the brief, creating an innovative plan which was approved on first submission by Southwark Council Compliance.

The Results: Regeneration Success

Complete electrical installation and testing services were delivered within the ENGIE Southwark Council project.   The Environtech team completed a handover to the highest snag free standard:

  • Electrical re-wire / partial upgrade of 210 flats
  • Kitchen and bathroom refurbishment to 210 flats
  • Replacement of CCUs as required
  • LD2 advanced smoke alarms repairs throughout
  • Electrical supply to 13 new ‘hidden homes’
  • Electrical design layout of Tenant and Resident Association Hall
  • Fixed wire testing

“Environtech is a natural M&E partner for us on projects such as The Tustin Estate and their excellent communication and liaison with other contractors enabled us to complete refurbishment of the 210 flats on time.  On-site the team was respectful of residents and always on top of health & safety and clean working practices.  We know they can provide the level of service we need and if issues arise the team is helpful and proactive to resolve them.”
