Royal Borough of Greenwich
Delivering a major electrical make-over to 21 industrial units is a tricky task. ENGIE invited us to provide specialist contractor works, knowing our track record of professionalism.
This is part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s redevelopment plan to encourage investment and employment for local people in the west Thamesmead area. The Council’s agreement of the Nathan Way scheme meets the demand for modern, high quality industrial space in the borough.
Our team has excelled on site at Nathan Way, carrying out a full fit-out with incoming mains, the rewiring of each unit and high bay internal lighting, external lighting, and fire alarm installation. We’re delighted to report that the project is nearing completion, and that progress on all 21 industrial units is being delivered within the anticipated time constraints during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Challenge: Pandemic H&S
Electrical works within Nathan Way’s 21 industrial units had already began when the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic struck. The Environtech team responded swiftly, implementing their own stringent additional health & safety policies, and adhering to the site’s overarching policies without exception. With additional precautions and restrictions in place, increased PPE, frequent hand washing and social distancing to ensure all workers are kept safe, the team was able to progress and mitigate the impact of delays to programme deadlines.
The Results: High Standard
Progress was slower than planned as the site suffered closures due to Covid-19. However, we are thrilled to report the project is in the process of handing over, with a high-quality snag free finish expected by the end of May 2021.
